This communication serves as a follow-up to the information shared with school systems on February 19, 2026, regarding Local Options to Increase Funding in Support of Academic Strategic Plans.

The Texas Legislature and the state of Texas provide a robust set of funding sources for school systems. Many of these funding sources are within the school system鈥檚 control and align with components of a strong academic strategic plan.

To support school systems as they consider local revenue and funding decisions aligned to their academic strategies, the 黑料社 (TEA) has made available the following resources on the TEA website:

These resources are also available on the TEA webpage in the Superintendent Resources and Guidance section under Finance and Grants and State Funding at Local Options to Increase Funding in Support of Academic Strategic Plans.

Regional Presentations

In partnership with Education Service Centers (ESCs), regional deep-dive sessions on this topic will be hosted over the coming months for school system academic and finance teams to attend. The schedule of presentations will be posted and updated on the Local Options to Increase Funding webpage and is also listed below:

In preparation of attending one of these presentations, participants are encouraged to:

  • Look out for additional communication from your ESC
  • Review the above slide deck and webinar
  • Download a copy of the District Decisions Funding Tool for the session to adjust local assumptions and explore how enhanced student supports may impact generated funding

Additional Supports

TEA will host office hours for school system leaders who wish to further discuss these funding options. Office hours are structured as open question-and-answer sessions; no formal presentation will be provided during these times. Office hours will be available at the following times:
